BUILT AROUND THE APPLICATION

The right opening is where the installation begins.

In-pavement airport lighting installations depend on correctly sized and accurately located pavement openings. KOR-IT bucket-mounted hydraulic core drills help contractors complete the coring stage before light-base placement and the remaining installation work.

01

Move between drilling locations

The bucket-mounted design gives crews a mobile drilling platform for work across expansive airfields.

02

Fine-tune drill positioning

EK-701 models provide approximately 29 inches of side-to-side and 11 inches of fore-and-aft drill-head travel.

03

Onboard water delivery

The four models featured here include a 50-gallon water tank and 12VDC water pump for wet drilling.

PROVEN IN THE FIELD

From a single light-can opening to a full airfield project.

Runway and taxiway projects require repeatable positioning, reliable hydraulic power, and a setup that can travel between hole locations. The K-700 family gives contractors a choice of standard and large-diameter drilling systems.

2–12 inch modelsFor standard-size core openings.
14–48 inch modelsFor large-diameter pavement openings.

Select bit diameter and segment specification to match the project pavement and required opening.

THE EQUIPMENT

Explore the K-700 Series.

Four skid-steer hydraulic coring options. The EK-701 models add adjustable positioning; the EK-700 models offer a standard mounting configuration. We can help identify the setup for your specified hole size and hydraulic equipment.

AIRFIELD PAVEMENT DOWEL DRILLING

Expand the airport pavement setup with the EK-9000-HDM.

For runway, taxiway and other concrete pavement work that requires horizontal dowel holes, the EK-9000-HDM adds a self-contained hydraulic drilling system designed to core multiple holes with controlled positioning and feed.

Hydraulic Dowel Machine

Built for horizontal concrete coring, the EK-9000-HDM combines hydraulic movement, integrated water delivery and multi-head drilling controls in one pavement-drilling platform.

1–4 horizontal holesConfigured to core one to four dowel holes across the work area.
50–100 gallon water tankLow-profile onboard water capacity for wet coring operations.
Hydraulic positioningForward, reverse and sideways movement accomplished hydraulically.
Gas or diesel hydraulic power packSelf-contained hydraulic power with an integrated reservoir.
RPM monitoringSensors on the four coring heads help maintain the specified drilling speed.
Feed-pressure monitoringAdditional pressure sensing helps limit over-feeding and protect core bits.
12V water pumpIntegrated Shurflo pump supports water delivery to the drilling operation.
Emergency stopDedicated machine safety control for stopping operation when needed.

Compared with pneumatic hammer drilling, diamond coring is intended to create cleaner openings with less impact to the surrounding concrete. Final configuration and drilling procedure should be matched to the pavement specification and dowel-installation requirements.
